Years of poor posture and low bone mass in the vertebrae can lead to kyphosis – common curvature of the spine. This increases the risk of further fracture, due to disruption of balance and the need to modify head position during standing and walking. Often kyphosis leads to a lack of confidence, both physically and emotionally. At Aevum we assess your posture, degree of curvature, mobility and reach before prescribing stretch and strengthening exercises both for home and in our centre, to increase mobility and strengthen postural muscles, increase your confidence and energize you. This also reduces the risk of further injury to your spine during lifting.
